Being in-the-moment with your food – considering what is involved in the growing of your food – the sunshine and water nurturing it, the route it took to get to your plate and/or the other ingredients in each bite. Eating with all of your senses – slowing down and enjoying each bite – seeing the colours, feeling the textures, hearing the sounds. Noticing your body and what is happening before, during and after each bite. Try this short, mindful eating exercise to support more mindfulness while you eat:
Choosing activities that we do daily is a great place to start in bringing more awareness moment-to-moment. Try mindful hand washing, noticing the soap, consider the ingredients in the soap and the different textures, colours and smells of the soap. When the soap is on your hands, feel it, see it transform once you add water and/or rub your hands together.
